Dear Sag Harbor Community:

As many of you know from recent presentations and information distributed at school events, the Educational Facilities Planning Committee (EFPC) has been actively seeking input from the community regarding building improvements at Pierson High School.

One of the centerpieces of the project is the construction of a new High School gym, which will create physical space that enables us to make several critical enhancements that span many facets of school programming, including science, music, and robotics/technology, as well as athletics. The existing gym is over 60 years old with multiple deficiencies including a lack of air conditioning, low/damaged ceiling structure, inadequate storage, poorly located and aged locker rooms, substandard training rooms, and other key gaps.

In an effort to familiarize community members with current Pierson facility conditions, District Administration and members of the EFPC will be hosting walking tours on the following dates:

Monday, June 23 at 5 PM
Wednesday, June 25 at 1 PM
Thursday, June 26 at 3 PM

Any community member who wishes to join the site tours should enter the Pierson High School gym entrance at the above times. We also encourage you to review some of the information produced by the EFPC about this project and complete the community survey.
