Pierson students travel to NYC Model UN Conferenc

Pierson High School students recently attended the National High School Model United Nations conference in New York City. As part of the conference, students not only participated in debate sessions, but also met with current United Nations representatives and their diplomatic team members.

This year, Pierson students prepped with middle school mathematics teacher, Richard Terry, to represent their assigned countries such as Canada and Colombia. Model UN is a club at Pierson and when paired with the conference, allows students to develop creative solutions for global issues in real-time. Working as a team and as individuals, the students receive real-world exposure to discussions on international affairs with their own peers, as well as through meeting new individuals.
