This week’s athlete of the week also goes to Ashley Weatherwax. Way to go Ashley! Note from the coach: Ashley stepped into the role of setter this year after playing libero during all of her 4 year varsity and club career. Her ability to run all over the court and get a great set is something that has helped us get to our post season goal. In practice and games, Ashley’s ability to visualize what she needs to do in order to get the point for our team is something she has taught to all of our players.

This week's athlete of the week goes to Carter Kleinsmith. Keep it up Carter! Note from the coach: Carter has been part of the backbone of the Varsity Golf team this year. Last season he was the most improved player. This season he has been our solid #1 and #2 seeded player throughout the season. This is his second year on Varsity and has been a major factor in our team qualifying for the playoffs and this is his second straight season qualifying as an individual player for the County Tournament. It will be exciting watching him next year as well.

Our second athlete of the week for the week of October 10th was Izzy Caplin! Note from the coach: Izzy has the ability to help the team in any event that we ask her to swim. At the last meet against West Islip, Izzy swam the 200 freestyle right at her best time and took 3rd place, and then swam the 100 breaststroke and finished in 1st place right near her best time

Our athlete of the week for the week of October 10th was Isabel Doyle! Please visit our Instagram and Facebook account for up to date Athletes of the Week! Note from the coaches: Isabel’s speed and tenacity as an outside midfielder on her Varsity soccer team has earned her a starting spot this season. She hustles up and down the sideline, working back defensively, and helping to create offensive opportunities in the final third. Her hard work and determination in practice has helped her grow as a player and senior leader. Plus her fun-loving attitude provides the team with both comic relief and encouragement!

Note from the coaches: Meredith is a true leader on and off the field. She is humble, strong, skilled and the best role model a coach can ask for. Her ability to read the field and adjust is next to none. Meredith’s athleticism makes her a fierce competitor that teams take note of.

This weeks Athlete of the Week goes to Halsey Burton. Great work👏 Note from the coaches: Halsey is one of our leading goal scorers and is our best defender. He leads by example on a consistent basis and holds himself to an incredibly high standard. He has played multiple positions on the field and has dominated the opponent at each position. Halsey is what every student athlete at Pierson should strive to be on and off the playing field.

This past week's athlete of the week went to Riley Roesel. Riley represents Pierson in the #1 singles spot on the combined Pierson, East Hampton, and Brideghampton team. Go Riley! Note from the coach: Riley deserves to be recognized for her work on and off the court. I've watched her rise to become the top player and captain on a really good 9-3 record combined tennis team.

Our second athlete of the week went to Adam Drohan. Note from the coach: This past spring and summer Adam has made a real commitment to improve his golf game. This season he is currently our top ranked player. He is playing against the number 1 players from the other schools in our league. Adam has done an amazing job of playing under pressure against several competitors who were state qualifiers. We are impressed with his work ethic on the golf course.
