Pierson Middle/High School Students Accept Rachel's Challenge

Inspiring Pierson Middle/High School students to promote positive change within their schools and community, presenters from Rachel’s Challenge spoke with students during two assemblies on Jan. 16.

Through the powerful and positive presentations, students learned the history of Rachel Joy Scott, the first person killed in the tragic Columbine High School shooting in 1999. They gained insight into the impact she made through acts of kindness and the legacy she left behind.

The assembly culminated with presenter DeeDee Cooper challenging students to show compassion and start a chain reaction of kindness.

The presentation also included a Friends of Rachel team training in which select students were trained as kindness ambassadors for their school. Additionally, parents and the community were invited to attend an evening presentation with Cooper to learn more about the program.
