Sag Harbor Students Take Geology Trips to Monitor Water Quality and Erosion

Photo caption: Jeff Reed's fourth grade class at Sag Harbor Elementary recently took two trips to Haven's Beach and Little Northwest Creek to study, measure, and report information about their environment. The students sifted sand to isolate iron and magnetite, and tested water quality for pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. Their findings were reported to The Water Monitoring Challenge which archives the condition of water bodies throughout the world.
