Pierson Theatre Recognized with Teeny Award Nominations

On Sunday, June 14th, several Pierson students were honored by the East End Arts Council (EEAC) with Teeny Award nominations. Pierson’s fall play, Play On, garnered nominations in each acting category adjudicated by EEAC. Senior Yanni Bitis was nominated for lead male role in a play for his portrayal of Gerry Dunbar. Junior Gaylin Davy was nominated for lead female role in a play for her portrayal of Violet Imbry. Senior Eva Doyle was nominated for supporting female role in a play for her portrayal of Phyllis Montague. Sophomore Thomas Schiavoni was nominated for supporting male role in a play for his portrayal of Louie Peary.

In addition to these acting nominations, several Pierson students were recognized for their contributions to the technical side of the show: Jalen Cooks (stage manager), Gianna Ekstra (costume design), Everett McMahon (lighting design), and Chad Federico (sound design). Congratulations to these students and the whole cast and crew of Play On!
