Pierson eighth graders explore the nation’s capital

The eighth-grade class at Pierson Middle School in Sag Harbor recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for a trip based on history, culture, and experience. The class toured the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the Capitol Building, the United States Botanic Garden, the National Gallery of Art, the John F. Kennedy gravesite at the Arlington National Cemetery, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. On a guided walk, they went sightseeing around the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial. To top off the trip with some fun activities, the students also visited the Smithsonian National Zoo and paddle-boarded around Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
