Sag Harbor Elementary has fun under water at the YMCA

Students in first through fourth grade at Sag Harbor Elementary School have been traveling to the YMCA for swimming lessons. As part of their physical education class, each grade gets three swim lessons. “Thanks to our terrific teaching team at the YMCA this program is very successful,” said Michelle Cottrel, Sag Harbor Elementary’s physical education teacher, “the students were challenged at all levels and had fun.” As part of their adventure at the YMCA pools, students had fun playing with underwater cameras. First-grade student, Georgica Spooner, smiled for the camera as she demonstrated her developed skills such as holding her breath and swimming in place.
