ABSENTEE BALLOTS will be available in the District Office after April 20.
Please print the attached "Application for Absentee Ballot" or come to the District Clerk to fill one out. Upon completion of the Application for an Absentee Ballot an absentee ballot will be mailed to you after April 20, 2010.
Application for an Absentee Ballot Process:
1. The first step in filling out the form is to print your name, telephone number, residence address, and mailing address.
2. As a qualified voter of the school district, check one box: I am a registered in the district or you will be over 18 years of age on the date of the vote, a citizen of United States, and have or will have resided in the district for thirty (30) days preceding such date.
3. The third step is to check one of the appropriate boxes as to why you, the registered voter, is unable to vote in person on the day of the vote. For example:
A - if you are going to be in the hospital
B - if your duties, occupation, business, or studies will require you to be outside of the county or city of your residence
C - if you will be on vacation
D - if you will be detained in jail or awaiting trial
E - if you expect to be absent by reason of accompanying or being with a person who you reside with who will be absent on such date
4. The fourth step is the delivery of the absentee ballot.
5. The fifth step is to read the declaration, sign, and date the application.
6. The sixth step is to mail or hand deliver the application for absentee ballot to the District Clerk. Park along Division Street and enter through the main entrance of the Middle/High School. Please ask for the District Clerk located in the Superintendent's Office.
7. The seventh step is the District Clerk will hand an absentee ballot to the register voter or she will mail it. If you are dropping off an application for someone other than yourself, the District Clerk will mail the absentee ballot to that individual.
8. IMPORTANT - Absentee ballots must be deliver to the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on date of vote.
